California Joblessness Reaches 70-Year High

LOS ANGELES — Californias unemployment rate in August hit its highest point in nearly 70 years, starkly underscoring how the nations incipient economic recovery continues to elude millions of Americans looking for work. While job losses continue to fall, the states new unemployment rate — 12.2 percent, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics — is far above the national average of 9.7 percent and places California, the nations most-populous state, fourth behind Michigan, Nevada and Rhode Island. Statistics kept by the state show Californias unemployment rate was 14.7 percent in 1940, said Kevin Callori, a spokesman for the California Employment Development Department.While California has convulsed under the same blows as the rest of the country over the last two years, its exposure to both the foreclosure crisis and the slowdown in construction — an industry that has fueled growth in much of the state over the last decade — has been outsized. Total building levels in California have fallen to $23 billion this year from $63 billion in 2005; home building this year is less than a quarter of what it was in 2005, according to the Center for Continuing Study of the California Economy. Roughly 500000 of the states job losses have been in construction, finance, real estate and industries related to construction. The rich are very cruel these days! Hopefully they will get what is coming to them real soon. They hoged up all the glory and benefits away from us. There is no recovery. Its all a fucking fairytale. You people are kidding me! We are not build for struggle anymore. We cant even stand the smell of each others perfume, none the less, living on top of each other with no decent water to wash our @sses. We are so oppionated, we have opinions on everything and everybody. When we saw injustice going on, most of us did not take an interest. We looked our noised up. It is that old adage of I didnt care until they came for me. Now, no one gives a dang about us, not europe, not asia, nobody.

The economic situation in the US is by no means immune to financial collapse…The same can happen here, a devasting financial earthquake, as in Haiti where “we wonder around dazed and confused” after being laid off and permenantly without a job, money and resources which can lead many to looting and crime to survive.

The suicide thing at the end is exactly how many think if I cant have it all why bother I did everything right I went to school obeyed the law. The law you need to obey is common sense when you get another home don’t move if your neighbors move in and play loud music you fight back keep calling the police until you get results carry a small gun in your pocket so you can shoot a chump that tries to steal your wallet shoot him in the back after he takes the wallet then get your wallet back go home

I HOPE YOU ALL FIND WORK . sometimes you need to take less pay or work at a job you might not like to pay your bills. we need to face the facts. never steal . that is not the answer. love GOD with all your heart mind and strength and love your neighbor as yourself. be pacient, keep moving ahead.
